Here are some Atmos™ success stories.

“This mattress has changed my life and I have never slept so soundly. Through the years I have tried many kinds of mattresses but never have I found one that’s just right. I always woke up feeling stiff and unrested. Not anymore.”
Heather H.

“The Atmos™ mattress is by far the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I never realized how significant the difference a mattress could make in my sleep experience.”
John C.

“My wife tends to prefer a temperature completely opposite of my setting, so with the dual-control we both end up having a great night’s sleep!”
Mike C.

“For the first time during summer I was able to actually keep my whole body under the covers without needing to kick my feet out! It’s like sleeping on the “cold side of the pillow” all night long!”
Jessica T.

Dr Brandon Phillips, heart-disease doctor

“I have used a climate-controlled bed from Mattress Firm since 2011. This bed has truly allowed me to get more restful sleep. I was born with a heart defect, and following my second open-heart surgery in early adult hood, I began to experience night sweats. They were so severe that I would often wake up in the middle of the night to move to the dry side of the bed. My mother had seen an advertisement for the Yume bed and suggested that I try it. As usual, mama knows best. The bed kept me cool enough that I stayed dry, slept through the night, and woke up feeling refreshed. I recently switched to the new generation climate-controlled bed, the Atmos bed, from Mattress Firm. Like its predecessor, this bed keeps me dry and allows me to wake up feeling refreshed while providing me support and a comfortable sleeping surface. Traveling is one of my favorite past times; however, I notice a significant decline in sleep quality when I am away from home. I have recommended a climate controlled sleep system to patients, family, and friends who have had difficulty with temperature regulation during sleep.”

Faq Product

Yes, Atmos™ mattresses and foundations conform to the measurements of standard sizes:
Twin Extra Long (38” x 80”)
Queen (60” x 80”)
King (76” x 80”)

The Atmos™ powerbase will fit perfectly into most bedroom furniture please ask your sales associate for specific dimensions.

Each Atmos™ is made with soy based foams that is certified and tested for the highest level of quality, consistency, and safety through Certi Pur.

At the core of every Atmos™ sleep experience is a masterfully designed mattress that combines layer upon layer of comfort-enhancing materials, ensuring a restful and restorative night.

  • It starts with the 7 ½-inch SensaCore support system: anatomically zoned with foam springs to provide unique contouring where you need it most. This technology offers 25% more support than the surrounding foam, and incredible pressure relief to the lumbar region. The result is improved spinal alignment and body placement, as well as a great night’s sleep.

  • Every Atmos™ is topped with Dri-Temp Foam™, a highly responsive material made to hug your curves and keep you cool. Its unique cell structure provides continuous airflow against the skin, and goes further to keep the mattress surface dry and let you sleep free from temperature sensitivity caused by perspiration.

Atmos™ is a sleep system that is designed to fit your sleep needs, lifestyle and budget. There are three models of the Atmos™ mattresses, offering a range of comfort levels. Once you have picked your comfort, then simply pick the Atmos™ foundation to match your lifestyle and sleep needs.

There are four Atmos™ foundations for a truly customized sleep experience:

  • The Ultrabase offers elevation, temperature and massage features.

  • The Altibase features elevation and massage control.

  • The Atmos™ Thermabase is a standard “flat” foundation that has temperature control.

  • The Dynabase is a “flat”, standard foundation that provides support to Atmos™ mattresses but does not include the climate control.

No. If you are simply looking for incredible comfort, you do not require a foundation with the components to operate the other features that the Atmos™ offers, namely massage, temperature and elevation. Since each size of mattress has the standard measurements, it is likely your foundation is the right fit. You should verify that your foundation also measures to standard size specifications, and that it is in good shape and up to the task. We suggest you check out the Atmos™ foundation designed for your new mattress, it’s sleek design and contemporary decor may be just the accent you want for a fresh and fashionable bedroom.

Switching mattresses can require a short adjustment period. We recommend a minimum of 30 days for your body to become accustomed to the new level of support and comfort. That’s why Mattress Firm let’s you try it out for 100 days, and return it if you aren’t happy. They will help you find the mattress that is right for you or give you back your money. Faq Health

Though we cannot make any guarantees, we can say with confidence that the Atmos™ offers the best conditions for comfort and the support. The Atmos™ mattress comes in 3 different models so you can find the right level of plush or firm support.

Every Atmos™ mattress builds on the incredible qualities of the 7 ½-inch SensaCore support system: anatomically zoned with foam springs to provide unique contouring where you need it most. This technology offers 25% more support than the surrounding foam, and incredible pressure relief to the lumbar region. The result is improved spinal alignment and body placement, as well as a great night’s sleep.

In fact, the Atmos™ offers the personalized comfort and control to better soothe and replenish your body like no other bed can. Think of the incredible relief and satisfaction of finding the perfect elevation, warm or cold air flowing against your skin, or a gentle massage where you’re most tense.

The Atmos™ temperature feature effectively speeds up relaxation and relieves tension. Use the heating function to sooth sore muscles and the cooling function to find just the right temperature to fall asleep.

The Atmos™ elevation feature allows you to recline comfortably and easily on a smooth surface at the right angle for your needs, whether you’re watching TV, reading or lounging. The Zero Gravity setting is especially helpful for those suffering from back pain as it elevates the knees, reducing strain on the back.

The Zero Gravity position that comes with the Atmos™ elevation feature puts you in the same position astronauts use during liftoff: knees bent, shins level to the floor. It eases stress on the bodies as they escape Earth’s gravity, raising the feet to the same level as the heart and increasing circulation to the core. Those suffering from back pain, and pregnant women may find this the best position to alleviate pain, relax tension and find the comfort to sleep.

The elevation feature’s Zero Gravity setting lifts and supports the knees, reducing tension on the back. This position allows the muscles in the back to relax and effectively relieves the strain caused by the added weight to the hip and stomach.

Based on the feedback we’ve received from our customers, elevating your head while sleeping reduces snoring and improves the quality of sleep for both you and your partner. Try sleeping at a 7-degree angle. If this doesn’t stop the snoring, choose a higher setting.

They call it their 100% Happy Guarantee.

The worst bed to sleep on is a soft, shapeless mattress providing little or no support. In the past, a firm bed was thought to be the solution, but a firm surface doesn’t provide pressure-relief to the sore spots or points where your bone structure is closer to the mattress. These pressure points often restrict your blood circulation and induce more tossing and turning during the night.

The Atmos™ solves that problem. Each Atmos™ mattress has the incredible qualities of the SensaCore support system: anatomically zoned with foam springs to provide unique contouring where you need it most. This technology offers 25% more support than the surrounding foam, and incredible pressure relief to the lumbar region. The result is just the right variance of support and comfort where you need it most, and ultimately a great night’s sleep.

The Atmos™ also comes in 3 models of mattress with varying levels of firm or plush support so you can choose the support that suits you best.

Yes, Atmos™ climate control is perfectly safe to operate while you are sleeping. In fact, multiple settings allow you to program your desired heating or cooling preference to automatically function while you rest. As an additional safety and cost savings feature, Atmos™ climate control will shut off after 10 hours of use. It is not recommended to let it run more than 10 hours over a 24-hour time period and like all electrical equipment, shouldn’t be left running when you aren’t home.

No, the advanced design of the temperature feature incorporates flexible ducts to transport air to the surface. This special component means you won’t feel the pieces of hardware at all, and also allows the feature to operate quietly.

Finding the right sleeping temperature can be a tricky thing to determine, and can vary from partner to partner. That is why Atmos™ gives each partner the freedom to select their desired heat or cool setting.

Performance and timing can vary depending on room temperature. It’s recommended that you turn your climate control on 30 minutes prior to using. It can take up to 15 minutes to go from one extreme to the other in most cases.

Faq Maintenance

In general, you can spot clean the cover with a mild detergent when necessary. You can have your Atmos™ professionally cleaned by most carpet cleaning companies should it become soiled and require a deep cleaning.

Atmos™ mattresses should not be flipped and we do not recommend rotating them. With this in mind, it is designed to provide you with the support and comfort you need for many years.

Yes, if you want additional warmth and comfort you can use a heating pad or blanket with Atmos™. Most find the range of warm settings and the dry, warm sleep environment that Atmos™ offers to satisfy their needs.

If you have purchased an Atmos™ without climate control it is recommended that you use a mattress protector. The Atmos™ climate control performs best without a mattress pad cover. If you have the temperature feature and choose to use a mattress pad cover, there will be degradation in performance, more so if it’s a waterproof or a non-breathable cover.

Yes. However, if you have the temperature feature, you must modify a dust ruffle in order for the system to operate properly.

To modify your dust ruffle, start by placing it over the foundation in its regular position. Feel for the four plastic inserts beneath the dust ruffle and mark an “X” on the dust ruffle where each pipe is located. Cut four circles around each “X”. It is better to cut a slightly oversized hole than one that is too tight and hinders effective air flow from the foundation to the mattress. Before repositioning the mattress, power on the Main Control Unit on to ensure air flows properly through the pipes and the dust ruffle.

It is also recommended the dust ruffle sit at least one inch above the floor for proper air circulation under the foundation.

Our mattresses are standard sizes so it will be easy to find new sheets. You need the measurement of the length and width of the mattress, as well as the depth. Please see measurements below:

  • The Twin Extra Long measures 38 inches wide, 80 inches long.

  • The Queen measures 60 inches wide, 80 inches long.

  • The King measures 76 inches wide, 80 inches long.

Yes, you can download a copy of the Atmos™ user manual. Click here to download.

No. The Atmos™ can be plugged into standard, grounded, household outlets with an AC supply current circuit of 110 to 120 volts. We strongly recommend using a surge protector to protect the bed’s electronic circuits.

The electrical components of the Atmos™ are designed to operate at full capacity in a range of temperatures and normal bedroom conditions. It is important to place the Master Control Unit on a dry, firm floor, in a well-ventilated area that isn’t likely to become damp or wet, such as near an open window.

If the humidity in the air becomes too great than the humidity sensor will switch to blowing ambient air until the relative humidity drops. This is to prevent moisture and condensation from building under your mattress. To verify the humidity sensor has been triggered look at the main screen on the Master Control Unit. If the “snow flake” or “heat icon” is flashing than your Atmos™ is in humidity mode and normal operations will resume when the humidity drops to a safe level.

The odor will soon dissipate. You can rid the smell more quickly by putting the bed on high heat for a period of up to 10 hours (you do not need to be in the bed during this time). The bed is designed to shut down after a 10 hour period. Repeat if necessary.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Try operating the bed at a lower temperature. Lower settings turn the fan at a slower speed and will reduce overall noise

  2. If the bed is located on a hardwood floor, place a carpet or other sound absorbing material under the bed.

For optimal use there are a few things to consider when deciding where to place your Atmos™.

  1. The most important factor when choosing where to set up your Atmos™ is how it will fit in to your everyday needs and habits. Find a location that is free of obstructions and allows for easy access.

  2. The bed itself requires the same space any bed would. However, the space beneath the foundation needs 2 inches of clearance from the floor. This space must be well-ventilated for the bed to function properly and you free of clutter, so refrain from storing any items there.

  3. The Main Control Unit should be placed on a dry, firm floor, in a well-ventilated area that free from surrounding fabric and has at least one foot of clearance on all sides. Do not place the main control unit under the bed, and don’t place items on the main control unit.

  4. If you plan on enjoying the cooling feature, Atmos™ should not be placed in a location that will be exposed to prolonged amounts of direct sunlight. This can cause the bed to develop a solar load, or simply store heat from the sun, similar to a hot car seat. This can reduce the effect of the cooling feature.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Check that all the cables and plugs are connected to the Main Control Unit, and to the power socket or surge protector, and the surge protector is turned on.

  2. Turn the MCU OFF wait 30 seconds. Turn ON to reset electronic components.

  3. Electrical circuit breaker may be tripped. Check electrical service breaker box to confirm.

  4. Verify electrical outlet is working; test by plugging in a different working appliance.

  5. Call Customer service to request in home service, see below.

Never open the internal compartment of the Main Control Unit, electronic components, mattress or foundation. If you still can’t get any of the equipment to power on, call our Customer Service Center at 1 866-942-3551, or chat with a technician through our website.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. If the noise is not extreme, and the power base is placed on a hard surfaced floor, trying laying carpet pieces or rubber caster cups under each leg.

  2. Check that the power base’s leg extensions are tightened firmly.

  3. If the noise has increased noticeably or appeared suddenly, the problem could be a technical one. Start by verifying that the power base isn’t positioned against a wall, nightstand, or other object that may cause vibration or noise.

  4. Make sure there is nothing under the power base that could cause noise during operation.

  5. If this is not the case, the problem could be mechanical. Start by isolating which function is producing the noise. To do so, turn the system off at the Main Control Unit. Wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. Using your remote, test one function at a time by activating it and listening for the noise. Be sure to disengage one function before proceeding to the next.

For further technical support contact 800-888-3078.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Verify that the power switch is in the ON position.

  2. Verify all cords are firmly plugged into back of MCU.

  3. One of the tubes may be improperly inserted between mattress and foundation. Check by lifting corners to verify tubes are inserted.

  4. Ensure that there are no obstructions between the outlet of the fan at the tube and the underside of the mattress.

  5. Verify MCU is located in a well-ventilated, dry location.

  6. To schedule in home service call Mattress Firm’s technical customer support service at 1 866-942-3551.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Look at the MCU LCD screen. If the COOL/HEAT ICON is blinking, your system is operating in HUMIDITY MODE with reduced performance (ambient air only) This is normal operation, and the climate control function will resume when the humidity drops.

  2. Ensure there are no obstructions under the bed limiting inlet airflow.

  3. If using a dust cover, be sure that holes have been cut in the surface covering the foundation to allow for air flow.

  4. Verify that there is five (5) inches of clearance under the bed. Be sure there are no items stored under the bed.

  5. Be sure you are not using a waterproof or non-breathable mattress cover.

  6. One of the tubes may be improperly inserted between mattress and foundation. Check by lifting corners to verify tubes are inserted. See diagram below for instructions on proper tube placement.

  7. To schedule in home service call Mattress Firm’s technical customer support service at 1 866-942-3551.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. One of the tubes may be improperly inserted between mattress and foundation. Check by lifting corners to verify tubes are inserted. See Installation section of the manual to review placement of tubes.

  2. To schedule in home service call Mattress Firm’s technical customer support service at 1 866-942-3551.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Ensure that there are no obstructions between the outlet of the fan at the tube and the underside of the mattress.

  2. Does the MCU kit have a fault code? If yes, please call 1-866-942-3551 to set up in home technical support.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. While in cooling mode, look at the MCU LCD screen. If the COOL ICON is blinking, your system is operating in HUMIDITY MODE which means only ambient air is being directed through your mattress. Normal climate control settings will automatically resume when relative humidity drops.

  2. Is the mattress set in direct sunlight? If so, it may be storing heat during the day, similar to a hot car seat in the afternoon. It is recommended the climate control set not be placed in direct sunlight for optimal performance.

  3. What temperature is the thermostat set at in the home? The climate control runs off of ambient, or room temperature air. It is recommended to set your thermostat at 73 degrees or below for optimal use. Also note, heat rises and it may be warmer in bedrooms that are on the second story resulting in diminished cooling results.

Pre-condition the bed by turning on thirty (30) minutes prior to getting into bed. The bed should be covered for insulating purposes. Use SHORT CUT KEY operation on the remote to start pre-conditioning. This is done by holding either the up arrow for two (2) seconds for heat, or down arrow for two (2) seconds for cool. Or, you may operate your mattress set using the app for IOS and Android devices.

You can purchase a replacement remote directly from Mattress Firm. Call Their customer service center at 1 866-942-3551 from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm Central time, or email us at customerservice@mattressfirm.com, or send mail to 5815 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77023.

Please follow the following trouble shooting steps:

  1. Verify you are using the correct remote for the appropriate side of bed by removing the battery case and verifying the toggle switch is properly set for the Left, Right, or dual side operations.

  2. Verify the batteries do not need to be replaced.

  3. If this does not solve the problem replace the remote by calling 1-866-942-3551.

If the power cuts, your Atmos™ will stop working. However, there is an emergency elevation function to flatten the bed, please to refer to your user manual for instructions. Otherwise, there is no need to turn off functions or power down the Main Control Unit: once the power is restored, the Atmos™ and its systems will stay powered off as a safety precaution. Simply press the power-on indicator found on your app or remote to continue to use, or check that it is functioning properly. If it does not respond, unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds, and plug back in. We recommend that you run the power cables to a electrical surge protection device to ensure there is no damage to your Atmos™ in the case of a power outage.

First, make sure the head of the bed isn’t too close to the wall. The base may be obstructed by a sheet or other object that has dropped between the power base and the mattress. Lift the mattress gently, being careful not to bend it, and check for an obstruction, and if possible remove the obstruction. For technical assistance call, 800-888-3078.
